Theology Programs
1. Bachelor of Theology (B.Th) and Diploma in Theology
Purpose
The B.Th program provides comprehensive theological and ministerial education to prepare students for pastoral leadership in Myanmar’s diverse cultural and ecclesial contexts.
Goal
To form spiritually mature, theologically equipped, and contextually responsive leaders who serve faithfully in church and society.
Admission Requirements
- Completed Application: Form with all supporting documents.
- Christian Commitment: Professing and baptized Christian with a personal faith statement/testimony.
- Academic Qualifications: Matriculation Certificate or GED equivalent.
- Certified copies of final certificate and transcripts.
- Church Endorsement: Recommendation from home church pastor/elder.
- Additional denominational recommendation if applicable.
- Health Certificate: Recent medical report (within 3 months) confirming fitness for study and freedom from contagious diseases.
- Entrance Examination: High school level test covering English, Math, History, Science, and Bible knowledge.
Program Duration
Four years full-time (max 7 years allowed with interruptions/part-time study).
Program Structure
- Academic Calendar: Two semesters, 16 weeks each.
- Credit System: 1 credit = 16 contact hours. Max 18 credits per semester.
- Core Courses: 4 credits across 2 semesters (64 contact hours total).
- Minor Courses: 3 credits in 1 semester (48 contact hours).
Total Credits for Graduation: 120 (minimum).
Student Learning Outcomes
Graduates will demonstrate knowledge, skills, and Christlike character aligned with TCC’s vision, mission, and values.
2. Diploma in Theology (Dip.Th)
The Diploma program offers theological and ministerial education similar to the B.Th, with contextual focus for Myanmar churches. It admits students who completed Grade 9 (old), Grade 11 (new), or equivalent.
Students who later complete matriculation may upgrade the diploma to a B.Th, subject to approval and academic performance.
3. Master of Divinity (M.Div)
Purpose
A professional degree preparing students for ordained ministry, leadership, and missionary service in Myanmar and globally.
Goal
To provide rigorous theological training, practical ministry skills, and spiritual formation for effective pastoral, missionary, and leadership roles.
Admission Requirements
- Completed Application: Form with supporting documents.
- Christian Commitment: Professing and baptized Christian with testimony.
- Academic Qualifications: B.Th from accredited institution, or bachelor’s degree from recognized university.
- Certified copies of certificates and transcripts.
- Church Endorsement from home pastor/elder.
- Additional denominational recommendation if applicable.
- Health Certificate: Recent report (within 3 months).
- Entrance Examination: Covers English proficiency and Bible knowledge (OT & NT).
Program Duration
Standard: 3 years full-time. Extensions allowed up to 5 years with approval for part-time or exceptional cases.
Program Structure
- Academic Calendar: 2 semesters (June–Oct, Nov–Mar), 16 weeks each.
- Credit System: 1 credit = 16 contact hours. Max 18 credits/semester.
- Core Courses: 4 credits across 2 semesters (64 contact hours).
- Minor Courses: 3 credits in 1 semester (48 contact hours).
Total Credits: 90 minimum (non-theology bachelor holders), 72 minimum (with theology degree).
Student Learning Outcomes
Graduates will show competence in biblical interpretation, pastoral leadership, spiritual maturity, cultural engagement, and lifelong learning, equipped for ministry in Myanmar and beyond.
